Marianne Seabright Tutoring Painting the Figure in Monmouth

HALF TERM DATES:
Monmouth Boys School - 5th May Bank Holiday and 26th May Half Term

Exciting News, Marianne Seabright will be tutoring with paint, the following sessions in Monmouth -
19th May, 2nd June, 9th June and 30th June.
Suggested Materials: Brushes, canvas board, suggested colours: orange-red, blue-green, yellow ochre, burnt umber and white.

We have designed a brand new course that connects our practice of mark making within drawing and the spirit of the figure through short poses with painterly methods and processes.

Marianne will be guiding members through learning how to mix colour, lightening and darkening paint including useful tips taken from colour theory, exploring flesh tone.

Sessions will also include working quickly with paint, relatively small compositions using thinned paint and time limited poses. This will focus on capturing the essence of the human form, exploring  mark making and developing colour theory and considering texture.

Drawing with paint. The use of long brush marks, long lines verses small shorter marks, brush strokes that describe the human form; sculpting and describing shape. Hard lines and soft edges will also enhance energy and atmosphere and will expand your journey of drawing and painting with expression.
